Steps to Make Homemade Khichuri

Hey everyone, hope you are having an amazing day today. Today, we’re going to prepare a special dish, khichuri. One of my favorites food recipes. This time, I’m gonna make it a bit unique. This is gonna smell and look delicious.

Khichuri is one of the most popular of current trending foods in the world. It’s appreciated by millions every day. It’s easy, it’s fast, it tastes delicious. Khichuri is something that I’ve loved my entire life. They are nice and they look wonderful.

To begin with this recipe, we have to prepare a few ingredients. You can have khichuri using 19 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you cook it.

The ingredients needed to make Khichuri:
  1. Take 1 Cup Gobindo bhog chal
  2. Take 1 Cup Split Yellow Lentil (Moong Daal)
  3. Get 2 Large Boiled Potato – Chopped into 6 pieces
  4. Get 1/2 Cauliflower Head – roughly chopped
  5. Make ready 1 Cup Green Peas – frozen or fresh
  6. Prepare 1 tbsp Ginger Paste
  7. Take 2 tbsp sunflower oil
  8. Get 4 tbsp Ghee
  9. Take 1/2 Cup Water
  10. Take 3 Cups Water (For soaking rice+lentils)
  11. Get 1 Large Tej Patta
  12. Take 2 Dry Red Chillies
  13. Get 2 Black Cardamoms
  14. Take 2 Cloves
  15. Take 1 Stick Cinnamon
  16. Take 1 tsp Garam Masala
  17. Take 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  18. Get 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
  19. Get 2 tsp Salt (As per your taste)
Instructions to make Khichuri:
  1. Heat a large kadai, Add moong dal and roast it over medium-low flames for 2 minutes. (this brings out the nutty lentil aromas and the dal will turn slightly brown-red). - Remove the roasted dal and add rice to the same pot. - Roast the rice for 2 minutes and transfer to the roasted dal bowl. - Soak the roasted dal and rice mix in 2 cups water.
  2. In the same kadai, add 1tsp ghee and sunflower oil and roast the cauliflower until light brown (takes 2 minutes). - Remove and keep aside.
  3. Heat the same kadai and add remaining oil + 1tbsp ghee.Add the whole spices and saute for 30 seconds.Add the powdered spices and saute for 30 seconds.Now add the soaked roasted dal + rice.Saute this mix 1-2 times and let this cook on low heat for 2 minutes. - Now add water, green peas (you may use the soaking water if you kept it), and saute everything.
  4. Let this cook on low-medium heat for 2 minutes stir it.Finally add cauliflower, potatoes, ghee, and mix everything. - Add 1/2 cup water, mix everything, and cover the kadai.Let this cook for 10 minutes over low-medium.continuosly stirring it. - Once the khichuri is cooked, add some ghee on top and lightly mix in. - Your khichudi is ready to serve.
